Stories Of Extra Time
"Biscuit is 14 and had almost stopped walking. Two weeks with this harness and we're back to our evening walks. I cry every time. Just seeing him happy to go outside again is everything"
"My vet recommended trying a lift harness before considering surgery. This one is the only one that actually fits Murphy right. Worth every penny to see him comfortable."
"The quality is remarkable — nothing like the flimsy ones we tried before. Rosie wears it every day and doesn't seem to mind at all. It's given us our girl back."

Frequently Asked Questions
We've Got Answers.
Will this work for a dog recovering from TPLO surgery?
Many TPLO owners use lift harnesses during recovery, but always follow your surgeon's specific post-op protocol. Some surgeons prefer slings positioned differently than a standard belly harness. We'd recommend confirming with your vet before using any harness post-surgery.
My order hasn't arrived within the estimated window — what do I do?
First, check your tracking link (sent by email when your order shipped). If tracking shows no movement for more than 5 business days, or your order is past the 10-day window, email us at support@elderpaw.com with your order number. We'll investigate and make it right.
What size should I order?
Use your dog's weight as the guide:
Medium — 20 to 40 lbs
Large — 40 to 60 lbs
X-Large — 60 to 90 lbs
If your dog is between sizes, size up. A slightly looser fit is easier to adjust than one that's too snug. Still unsure? Email us at support@elderpaw.com with your dog's weight and breed and we'll tell you exactly which size to grab.
What kinds of dogs is this for?
The Elder Paw harness is designed for senior dogs dealing with hind-leg weakness, arthritis, hip dysplasia, post-surgery recovery, or any condition that makes standing, climbing stairs, or getting into the car difficult. If your dog needs a little help getting up but still has some strength in their legs, this is built for that moment.
Will it fit my dog's body shape?
My dog has a deep chest / long body.
The harness uses adjustable straps at the chest and belly, so it accommodates most body shapes within the weight range. Breeds with deep chests (like Labs, Goldens, and German Shepherds) and longer-bodied dogs (like Dachshunds, though rare at this weight) fit well. If you have a breed with unusual proportions, reach out before ordering and we'll confirm fit.
How do I put it on?
Slide the harness over your dog's head, position the padded panel under their belly (just in front of the hind legs), and fasten the adjustable straps on both sides. The top handle should sit along the dog's back — when you lift, you're supporting from the core, not the spine. Most dogs accept it within one or two uses. A short video guide is included with every order.
Is it safe to leave on my dog unsupervised?
We recommend using the harness for assisted movement rather than leaving it on all day. If your dog is resting, take it off — prolonged wear on any harness can cause skin irritation, especially on dogs with sensitive or thinning senior coats.
What is it made of?
The harness is made from durable nylon with a soft neoprene lining against your dog's skin. The handle and strap webbing are reinforced to hold weight up to 90 lbs safely. All hardware is rust-resistant metal.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Delivery typically takes 6-8 days. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as your order ships.
